Thanksgiving! Woo!

We are very blessed that are very great friends Adam and Ashley and Jeff and Heather came to celebrate Thanksgiving with us! Adam and Ashley came from Long Beach, CA. Jeff from Rhodo, Spain and Heather his wife from D.C (Jeff is in the Navy and is stationed in Spain, Heather works for Cisco and will be joining Jeff in Spain at the beginning of the new year!)
Here are a few of our favorite memories from Thanksgiving 2010:
  • Adam and Ashley got ENGAGED!!
  • We specially ordered a Turkey from a butcher and had to pay $100 for it...yes we got taken.
  • Too much SNOW!
  • Guiness Factory Tour
  • St. Patrick's Cathedral
  • Heather sneaking in a few much needed food items for our Thanksgiving Feast that we couldn't find in Ireland ie: Cornbread, pumpkin filling, french fried onions
  • Jeff and I finding out that Irish chicken broth is actually chicken soup...complete with potato's, corn and rice.

And my Favorite: All I wanted to do was watch the Iron Bowl on TV (Auburn vs Alabama). I had been telling Shaun for weeks that he had to figure it out. He said no problem it's on ESPN America. We'll be able to watch it. Well on Wednesday before the game the cable goes out, and no one in Ireland understood how big of deal it was that the cable was out and they couldn't come fix it until 3 days after the game?! Shaun said no problem, we'll live stream the game from the internet to the T.V "I've done it 10 times and it works like a charm". About 3 minutes before kick-off the internet goes out. Needless to say I'm thinking divorce. Shaun calls some taxi's and we find a pub that is playing the game. While we are outside freezing waiting for the cab, my new (first time we'd met) co-worker pulls up the score on his phone. Alabama is winning 21-0...I started crying..Haha! We make it to the pub with 4 min left in the 2nd half and I never saw AL score another point...Auburn came back to win!!
